Do you want safe cycle routes in Oxford?

We believe that cyclists should be treated as first class road users alongside motor vehicles and we aim to engage with Oxford City Council to promote the development of safe routes into and around the city.

Why safe cycle routes

16 cyclist have been killed on Oxford’s roads since 2000 and 61% of people in Britain think cycling on roads is too dangerous. For environmental, traffic and health reasons we need to encourage more people to travel by bike.

What are safe cycle routes

Cyclists should be treated as first class road users, alongside pedestrians and motor vehicles. Wherever possible, cyclists should be separated from both cars and pedestrians on their own cycle roads, with their own traffic light priority.

Our proposed routes

On this website you can see four proposed Cycleways and five Cycle Expressways. You can zoom in to see the routes in detail. Additionally there are information pins to reveal explanation notes in specific places.
